BEN FRANKLIN ALIVE
With Emmy winner Bill Meikle as
Ben Franklin
"It's magic to watch Bill Meikle put on a pair of glasses and turn into Benjamin Franklin.
It's entertainment. It's education. It's fun.
Celebrate the life of this American Renaissance man of utility, intellect and wit.
Invite Dr. Franklin (a.k.a. Bill Meikle) into your school this year.
Schools owe him to their students."
Judy Harrison, Maine Coast Pilot
Bill Meikle has presented programs in schools for twenty-three years. He has enjoyed performing for and interacting with a variety of ages, but especially with 5th, 8th and 11th graders.
Due to the number of recent requests, Bill has adapted a program for third and fourth graders called
A Visit with Ben Franklin. The program is shorter in length, more directive as storytelling yet still responsively interactive to the children's inquiries. Teachers can suggest a particular area of focus, i.e. coming of age in the greatest city in Colonial America, the events leading up to the time of the Revolution, Invention in the 18th century, being a Printer in America, life as the foremost "natural philosopher" (scientist) of the 18th century, being a Printer in America, life as the foremost "natural philosopher" (scientist) of the 18th century, or
